Q1. 什麼是特殊教育？
What is Special Education?
特殊教育是當孩子在學習、情緒行為、身體或感官發展上有影響學習的需要，經過專業評估後，若符合資格，學校會提供支持服務。
Special education provides support when a child has learning, behavioral, physical, or sensory needs that affect learning. After professional evaluation, if eligible, the school offers appropriate support services.

Will my child be pulled out of regular classes?
原則上孩子仍在原班上課，僅在必要時短時間接受額外課程（如社交技巧），大部分時間與同儕一起上課。
Generally, students remain in their regular classes. Only when necessary, they may attend short sessions (such as social skills training), but most of the time they stay with their peers.
Q4. 孩子會被貼標籤嗎？
Will my child be labeled?
不會。資訊保密，僅與直接教導孩子的老師共享，外人不會知道。
No. All information is confidential and shared only with teachers directly working with the student. Others will not know.
Q5. 特教身分有效期多久？
How long does the eligibility last?
通常為 1–3年，到期會重新評估。家長也可隨時提出退出。
Usually 1–3 years, after which a re-evaluation is conducted. Parents can also request withdrawal at any time.
Q6. 會不會影響升學？
Will it affect my child’s future schooling?
不會。特教身分只在校內紀錄，不影響升學；反而能申請合理考試協助（如延長時間）。
No. The status is only recorded within the school and does not affect admissions. In fact, it may allow for reasonable exam accommodations (e.g., extra time).

Why apply for special education? Will my child be seen as weak?
特教是「資源」而不是「標籤」。孩子能獲得更多幫助，避免因挫折失去自信。
Special education is a “ resource,” not a “ label.” It gives children access to support, helping them succeed and build confidence.
