I. Organization:

The Ministry of Education has commissioned the Department of Chemistry at National Taiwan Normal University to organize the national team to participate in the 57th International Chemistry Olympiad in 2025.

II. Eligibility for Preliminary Examination: Applicants who meet the following criteria may apply through their respective schools:

(a) Born on or after July 1, 2004 (under 20 years old). (b) Hold a Republic of China (Taiwan) National ID card. (c) Be a full-time student in a senior high school in Taiwan. (d) Applications that do not meet the above criteria will be disqualified upon verification. (e) Junior high school students, in addition to meeting criteria (a) and (b), must be full-time students in a junior high school in Taiwan and have been selected and completed the training program for the National Science Olympiad (proof required at the time of registration). (f) Students participating in non-formal experimental education at the senior secondary level who have not obtained a student ID may register through the competent authority of their respective special municipality or county (city).

III. Preliminary Examination: The nationwide preliminary examination will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The exam duration is 2 hours. The exam content will be based on high school chemistry. Students must bring a valid photo ID to the exam.

IV. Registration: Registration must be completed by the student's school. On-site registration will not be accepted, and late registrations will not be processed. Please refer to the official website for the registration procedure.

V. Registration Period: From 9:00 AM on October 1, 2024, to 5:00 PM on October 15, 2024.

VI. Test Centers: The exam will be held simultaneously at 9 test centers nationwide: Taipei (建國中學), Taoyuan/Hsinchu/Miaoli (武陵高中), Taichung/Changhua/Nantou (臺中一中), Yunlin/Chiayi (嘉義高中), Tainan (臺南一中), Kaohsiung (高雄中學), Yilan (宜蘭高中), Hualien (花蓮高中), and Penghu (馬公高中).
