I. Since 2023, we have adopted a new format to encourage high school students to use English and showcase their speaking skills and presentation abilities through English speech contests. This competition is jointly organized by our school and the American Institute in Taiwan, Kaohsiung Branch.

II. Competition Theme: How AI Can Foster U.S.-Taiwan Collaboration. In this competition, we encourage participants to share innovative ideas on six sub-topics to enhance cooperation between Taiwan and the United States.

III. Divisions and Quotas: Individual and group divisions (2 people per group). Each school can recommend a maximum of 10 groups (individual and group combined).

IV. Competition Format: (a) Preliminary Round: Complete online registration and video upload within the deadline. (b) Workshop: Participants who pass the preliminary round must attend a workshop and draw their final sub-topic at the end of the event. (c) Final Round: Participants who pass the preliminary round and attend the workshop are eligible for the final round, which will be held in person.

V. Important Dates: (a) Registration and Submission Deadline: From now until 5:00 PM on Monday, October 28, 2024. (b) Workshop: Saturday, December 7, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at National Sun Yat-sen University. (c) Final Round: Friday, December 13, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM, at National Sun Yat-sen University.

VI. Awards: Participants who complete the workshop will receive a certificate from National Sun Yat-sen University/American Institute in Taiwan and a souvenir. Winners of the first, second, and third places, as well as merit awards and honorable mentions, will receive prizes and certificates.

VII. Attached are 1 copy of the competition brochure, individual and group registration forms, and the event poster. A separate official document and poster will be mailed.
