This year, Grades 4-12 students will participate. Starting at the end of March we’ll run qualifying rounds:

Grades 4-6 during naptime on Thursday, March 27th

Grades 7-9 during Friday Club time on March 21st

Grades 10-12 the following week, March 28th.

Once we have our 9 finalists, the final rounds will take place during the Year-End Performance, May 27th.

This will help the students practice their public speaking, build vocabulary, and their confidence in themselves, so we hope students will be encouraged to do their very best!

Get ready to build your vocabulary and practice public speaking!

Q—What is a spelling bee?

Contestants take turns spelling words that are said aloud by the judges. Contestants can ask for the definition and to hear the word in a sentence. If they make a mistake, they’re disqualified. The person who can spell the most words correctly is the winner!

Q—How can I practice for the spelling bee?

You can practice spelling words and then check to see if you got them right. Find a good word list to study here:
