Regulations for the 4th Youth International Leadership Camp on Disaster Prevention
The event will be conducted with the assistance of the Ministry of Education in Taiwan. The domestic training sessions are scheduled to take place from October 2nd to October 4th (3 days, 2 nights).
Details regarding the participants, venue, selection process, and application procedures are as follows:
(1) Participants: Students currently enrolled in national and private senior high schools and 9th grade students in national junior high schools (academic year 2023) who meet the eligibility criteria.
(2) Selection Process:
The initial selection will be based on document review. 40 applicants will be accepted, with 5 additional candidates on the waiting list. Accepted students will participate in the domestic training camp on disaster prevention. Each school may have a maximum of 2 selected students. The Ministry of Education and the selection committee reserve the right for the final decision.
The second stage of the selection process will involve oral presentations. From the 40 candidates who attended the domestic training camp on disaster prevention, up to 1/3 of the participants will be selected as Youth Ambassadors for Disaster Prevention (including indigenous students, with a total of 2 ambassadors). Additionally, 5 candidates will be placed on the waiting list. The number of participants may be adjusted by the Ministry based on the number of applicants and the evaluation results.
(3) Application Procedures and Notes:
Online registration: From now until August 18th, 2023 (Friday) at 6:00 PM (based on the system registration time). Late submissions will not be accepted. Online registration link: https://forms.gle/J6FhJAvs6uYFD3ca9.
Physical documents: From now until August 18th, 2023 (Friday) (based on the postmark). Late submissions will not be accepted.
The application form and required documents should be sent to the Water Resources and Environmental Group, Hydraulic Laboratory, National Cheng Kung University, Address: 5th Floor, No. 500, Section 3, Anming Road, AnNan District, Tainan City 709, Taiwan.
The application materials must be submitted in hard copy, with a simple binding using a staple or paperclip, in duplicate. The submitted documents must be complete, and no supplementary materials or replacements will be accepted. Incomplete or late submissions will not be processed.
The training expenses for the domestic sessions will be covered by the project budget. However, personal expenses will not be covered.
